It was a cold, dark, rainy day.....

And two trees seemed to merge together.  I don't know enough to know what kind of tree this is, they always remind me of camouflage but then this one is a little different - it can't seem to make up its mind whether it should be a regular tree or one of the multi coloured ones!

Holiday sweets

My friend Ana went to France and brought me back these lovely looking sweets.  Now two things here - did you know that holiday sweets have no calories in them....honest haha and also I learnt that candy floss in french translates as Papa's beard which is just kindof so wrong! I'm off to enjoy my sweeties!

Who knew dogs could read!

This sign says 'No Dumping' and because I am a child it makes me giggle.  Today in particular as I noticed the most horrible smell of, well of people not cleaning up after their dogs, and then I saw how low this sign has been placed on the lampost...kindof at the level a dog, not a person would be looking ☺

Mash, mash glorious mash!

The menu is my idea of heaven - of course I don't eat most of it but the amount of mash and veggie sausage keeps me very very happy!

Sunday 26th September 2010

I was at my friends this weekend and they have these lovely figurines in the window - made all the more romantic by the very dimming light.

Saturday 25th September 2010

September has suddenly turned cold - by a drop of over 10 degrees - but there is, thankfully, still a splash of colour to be seen!

Friday, 24 September 2010

Not my creation but I took a picture of a picture and well.....

...I like it so much it has to be picture of the day and it's also given me ideas of the next photo project I do but we shall see.  I don't know who did this originally.....anyone know?

Stitch n bitch

On the way home last night I stumbled upon a giant cotton reel.  Yes, I know it isn't really what it is used for but ever since I was a little girl I've always seen them as being cotton reels of the giants!

This is how the world knew that my work's party had been a success

Well that and the fact the building was still standing and people were still smiling ☺

Everyday should end this way

Need I say more? Nah I didn't think so!

Poo poo

No, not that sort - the noise a pigeon makes!!!! Do you think this one is the black sheep of the family - you know being a white pigeon and all that?!

The mean reds!

What a lovely array of pinks and clarets - sadly I think this might be one of the last splashes of flower power before the winter kicks in!

It always makes me look for the sea

Looking down the hill and over the city - it is athe sort of view that makes me think I am going to see the sea at any moment now.  I used to live a few roads over from this street and would walk home with a very similar view every day and it would help to wipe all your troubles of the day away.  Lovely!

Friday, 17 September 2010

I know I know it's not 'my' photo but it made me laugh so it felt wrong not to share! I'm kind like that I am!!

Nope it's not sausages hanging out of its mouth - it really is the little dogs tongue - gaining it a place in the guinness book of records!!!!

Day of the Triffids

Well this little Alien plant has made an appearance before but over the last few days it's shot up and is dominating my window space, I took this picture to record it's height and was quite impressed with the spooky feel to it.

Oh la la so civilised!

I went out for dinner with my friend Abi.  Now I am used to having to ask for just your general Colmans' mustard so I was rather impressed to find all these out on display just as your regular choice of mustard to have with your meal.  Small things amuse small minds maybe.....personally I just think I have style and taste and am finding some pretty darn cool restaurants of late!

It's almost like candy floss

Now I know that you can get these plants or bushes that grow cotton on them and there is this plant at work - it's looked the same since I started working there - I just wonder - is it really a cotton plant or is it a twig that someone stuck cotton wool balls all over?

It's got a lot of bottle

The decor in one of the pubs I go to is really pretty - and they've got a light display out of bottles that have got the bottoms chopped off and each has been painted and as you will see I think they look really pretty!

Some Pig!

In my head every spider is Charlotte from Charlotte's web purely because I loved that book and loved Wilbur and seeing as Charlotte saved Wilbur I loved her too.  This 'little' spider is very busy weaving a web across the post of our garden gate - so far everyone has ducked under it but I know it won't be long before someone has a cobweb dinner!

London town init

A foggy view just before the sun broke of a look from Suicide Bridge (can't think why it's called that) out over the North West of London and seeing into the City.  Beautiful!

Who would have thought I'd get a shop named in my honour!

Well it's obviously about me and my state of mind right!?!?!

Tumble down

Not quite the same as the rainbow from yesterday I grant you but who thought a pile of bricks would be so colourful.....or have I had too much to drink again!??!

Wednesday, 8 September 2010

I went to a friends house for dinner, gossip and wine tonight and just seconds from her front door there was a torrential down pour.  Thankfully I had my new shower proof coat on - got inside nice and dry and seconds later another bonus...a rainbow!!!!

Nelly the elephant....

Got disrupted by the darn tube strike.  Tonight I should've been going to this event with friends but thanks to the tube strike we can't actually get there.  Boo hiss.  Dame Daphne Sheldrick is the founding member of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where I foster two Elephants, Wassessa and Mutara.  I was really looking forward to meeting Dame Daphne as I think what she does is wonderful.  I've been in discussions for ages about doing some volunteer work for them but it's not easy maintaining contact with the London office for some reason - oh well - better luck next time ay!

"The monkey balls are on me!"

These are just one, or should that be this is just one of the weird and wonderful plants in my house.  D has a corner (and by corner I mean HUGE patch of our lounge used up with some weird and wonderful plants.) These I have christened Monkey balls and for some reason they always make me sing the milky bar advert exchanging a few lyrics.

It's the greatest place on earth!

My living room - ok - no that is not what I meant I mean Paperchase!!  It recently introduced a new character to its range of goodies......a dark haired girl with a big fringe and roses and things...I got lots of it for my birthday....and now they have this character.  And now I think I want rainbow hair!  It's one of those shops that has nothing you need in it but everything you 'need'.  Boys might not undertsand me but I'm sure girls will!

I see one dog, I see them all!

Can you even see in the blur of all the dogs just how many there are there - it's at least 10! And no she's not a dog walker and yes there is an extra dog in the push chair - always is! See I love dogs but that many?  And no offence but can you imagine what her house must smell like? Even the cleanest person in the world would struggle with that amount of doggy breath!

Friday, 3 September 2010

My poor thumb - it keeps dislocating - I spent a really boring day at hospital yesterday and have to see a specialist.  And why oh why can't these things come with ouch written all over them or be in sparkly colours or something!!?!

Centre of the Universe

OK you may have worked out that it's not really quite the centre of the universe but it is a little building called Centre Point situated at the cross roads that makes up Oxford Street, New Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road and Charing Cross Road.  It shows our return of summer weather and I also watched a programme the other night about bass jumping and some guy jumped off Centre Point.  Now that's gotta be amazing and scary in equal measures!
