So I am now having to go to hospital for hand therapy to try to sort out my poorly thumb - it was injured 7 months ago so I am really glad to finally be getting something done - and look at this - my very own brace made to fit my thumb! Yeah - still no pretty colours!
My friend Claire is expecting a baby later this year. Seeing as I can't crochet anymore thanks to my thumb and I had some time on my hands due to being ill - I thought I'd teach myself to knit but knitting her unborn some booties!
This is such a lovely store - filled with things you don't need but want all the same - many of it cute japanese or hello kitty inspired. Sadly this store is going to shut down - the rents are going up to ridiculous levels in Camden market and that sadly is pushing away a lot of the old long standing loyal businesses...to make way for what.....it makes me shudder to think!
So today we national save your library day in the UK. Since the new government came into power even more libraries are under threat of closure. Reading is a fundamental life skill but books can be expensive, to take something so important away from so many is just disgusting. It's one place the budget should not be cut.
I had to go back to the hospital today for my thumb. I had to see the consultant, then to xray, then to the constultant, back to xray then to the consultant then to hand therapy and back again next week. The main hospital is huge, and it backs into the old hospital so making it doubly huge then all this complex is part of it too - honestly it's like its own little village!
We have a couple of these around work, and I've seen them in some museums. I know they were popular once - but I really don't get it at all - who would want a display of stuff dead birds when there's always been plenty around singing in your garden!?!
